Every MyStage stage is built from the same 4 ft x 4 ft (1.22 m x 1.22 m) aluminum deck. Each deck unfolds and sets up in under a minute with no tools, stands on five legs including a center leg that reduces deflection and bounce, and folds in half to 2 ft x 4 ft (0.61 m x 1.22 m) for storage and transport. Decks connect side by side and end to end, so the same system builds a single riser, a runway or a full event stage. One person can carry a deck using the included shoulder strap.
Step 1: Choose your stage size
Start with what will happen on the stage, then round up to whole 4 ft decks. These are common starting points:
- Lectern, DJ booth or drum riser: 2 decks, 4 ft x 8 ft (1.22 m x 2.44 m)
- Small band, choir riser or pulpit: 4 decks, 8 ft x 8 ft (2.44 m x 2.44 m)
- Presentation or worship team stage: 6 decks, 8 ft x 12 ft (2.44 m x 3.66 m)
- Full band or ceremony stage: 8 decks, 8 ft x 16 ft (2.44 m x 4.88 m)

Step 2: Choose your stage height
The standard MyStage legs adjust from 4 to 28 in (10 cm to 71 cm). For a low-profile platform such as a lectern riser or classroom stage, Shorties give 8 and 10 in (20 cm and 25 cm) settings. For a tall stage that needs to be seen over a standing crowd, Biggies adjust from 26 to 36 in (66 cm to 91 cm). A good rule of thumb: the larger the audience and the further back the last row, the higher the stage.
Step 3: Add the accessories that make it safe
- Railings: aluminum railings cover open edges in 4 ft (1.22 m) sections. Plan a railing for any edge that is not against a wall or used for access.
- Stairs or a step up: MyStage stairs have three steps with grip tape and a railing, for stages up to 28 in (71 cm). A single step up suits lower stages.
- Skirting: each skirt is 16 ft x 28 in (4.88 m x 71 cm), enough for all four sides of one deck, in black or white. It hides cables and cases and gives the stage a finished look.
- Castors: a set of five wheels with brakes slides onto the standard legs, so crews can roll a riser into place and lock it.
Step 4: Understand pricing in US dollars
MyStage prices are in US dollars (USD). When you pay by card, your card issuer converts the charge to Canadian dollars at its own exchange rate and may add a foreign transaction fee, so check your card terms if the final Canadian dollar amount matters for a school or church budget.
